FL5 Honda Civic Type R Walkaround
Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another walkaround. This time around it's all about the new FL5 Honda Civic Type R. This is the sixth generation Civic Type R and comes at a time where Honda is celebrating both 50 years of the Civic and 25 years of Type R variant. The FL5 carries on from where the FK8 left off, and shares the same 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
It produces more power then before, albeit with 9 more horsepower to give it a total of 329, and torque is now at 420Nm. 0-62 is done in 5.4 seconds, and the top speed is 171mph believe it or not! Unlike some hot hatches nowadays, the power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential.
As well as more power, the new Civic Type has been made stiffer and more rigid, meaning it will be even better in the corners, and there is a new individual mode so drivers can make their driving experience more bespoke. In this video I take you around the car and talk through the features.
