Rapid sand filter backwash - 3 phase CFD simulation
This full-scale rectangular sand filter was unprecedentedly modelled using 3-phase CFD (water/sand/air). It starts with a water backwash, after which air/water is used. The fluidization of the sand is shown. Project for our customer Vitens (Netherlands).
