🌐 HOW TO BUILD A WEBSITE (2024)
There are only really 4 main steps that we need to follow in order to build a website.
1️⃣ Register Domain & Hosting
Before we can start building our website, we need to register a domain name and web hosting.
A “domain name” is what a user will type into their internet browser to visit our website.
Example: google.com
Then, “web hosting” is where the different files that make up our website, will be stored online.
There are tons of different places online to get domain names and web hosting, but I recommend using Bluehost in this video.
Bluehost are a well known hosting company, with affordable pricing and great support. They also offer a free domain name with every hosting package (worth $15).

2️⃣ Install WordPress.org
In order to build a website (without learning coding), we need to use what’s known as a “Content Management System” or CMS.
Which makes it a LOT easier.
For this website, we’re going to be using WordPress.
WordPress actually powers over 40% of ALL websites online.
And it’s also the same platform used by companies like Forbes, Sony, and TechCrunch for their websites.
Note: Bluehost have a built in WordPress installer, so it only takes about a minute to install.
3️⃣ Customize Website
Once we have WordPress installed onto our domain name and hosting, we can start to customize our website.
To do this, we will be installing a WordPress Theme called GeneratePress (one of my favourite themes).
We’ll also be able to change the website title, upload a logo (optional), and change the various colors.
4️⃣ Add Content to Website
Then, the last thing we need to do is add content to our pages.
This includes text, bullet lists, headings, images, and clickable links.
By the end of this short tutorial, you will have your own basic WordPress website LIVE online.
