How to MIGRATE a WordPress Website – THE FAST WAY 🚀
In this video, I will show you how to MIGRATE a WordPress website in about 60 seconds!
This will work for transferring ANY TYPE of WordPress site to a different domain name or hosting provider, as long as it's using WordPress.org.
This includes all of our WordPress files and databases, our plugins, images, themes, and all of our content. We also don't need use any sort of FTP or even visit the cPanel to do it.
So, if you need to migrate a WordPress website for any reason, this is how it's done.
📋 Written Steps:
Before starting, we need to make sure WordPress is installed on both sites.
(the one we're migrating, and the one we're migrating to)
1. Install and activate the "Backup Migration" plugin on both websites.
2. Make a backup of the website we're migrating, by clicking "Create Backup Now".
3. Copy the URL we're given after the backup is complete (we'll use this for the migration).
4. Head over to the other site and click into "Manage & Restore Backups" in the top right.
5. Click into "Super Quick Migration" underneath.
6. Paste in the URL we copied and click "Restore Now" (this may take a few minutes to complete).
Then, once it's finished uploading the files, we'll get a message saying "Restore Successful".
At this point, we can close out of the popup and visit our website, and we'll see it's now an exact copy of the original website.
And that's how easy it is to migrate a WordPress website or blog, using the Backup Migration plugin.
