Dayhiking the Ozark Highlands Trail - Marinoni Scenic Area
Come along for a dayhike of the Ozark Highlands Trail. The destination: Marinoni Scenic Area, a particularly cool spot along the OHT.
Starting at the Indian Creek Trailhead, I cross the road and take the .6 mile Indian Creek Trail to the OHT. I turned right (east) to head to Marinoni. The walk takes you through beautiful Ozark forest, even some American Beech trees - the first time I have seen them in the Ozarks.
The scenic area itself is a wonder. It's about 3 miles in and you'll know when you get there. There are huge boulders everywhere...all sorts of interesting formations, too. There's even an arch!
I turned around not long after the end of Marinoni, at a little forest road. I mention the specific one in the video. It made for about a 6.5 mile hike with the only real difficulty in the first ascent to the OHT.
