Solar Storm
Please Join Us this Sunday for WaveTalkers LIVE: Episode 107
This week the WaveTalkers crew begins a Winlink Exercise that starts 24hrs after a major solar storm impacts the earth. The Federal Office of What's Happening Now (OWHN) has activated the WaveTalkers Winlink Radio Network and we need your help.
Please join us with your Winlink station ready to provide the information that the OWHN has requested. We will begin by walking through the process of determining how to send your traffic via Winlink, during a grid down event. We will then walk through the requested form to provide the ground proofing data our AHJ has requested. If we are successful, we will map your data before handing out a challenge for your own EmComm team to complete before next week.
The exercise has been designed for everyone to participate including Winlink operators using HF, VHF/UHF, MESH, or telnet.
We will wrap up Episode 107 with an after party for all of those joining us in the Zoom. We would love to hear about your experiences during the recent solar storm.
