Slade's monster1973 hit otherwise known as Noddy's pension!

Geeks, Nerds and Anoraks' Corner

Well for a start if anybody wants to know how to play it don't watch this. This was recorded a week or so ago and the video has just been very hastily put together without any rehearsal so we have mimed wrong notes everywhere! It's one of those numbers that can never be played exactly the same each time so it is what it is.
I have tried to play it not like the Shads might have done, but Hank's decades long influence still keeps creeping in!

For a more funky sound I played through the Vox ToneLab ST on the US High Gain amp model with the gain control just on the edge of distortion. To thicken the sound I turned the treble down to zero and both middle and bass up to maximum. I added a little hall reverb and from the Tascam DP24SD recorder just a touch of my stereo echoes. I used my Squier Classic Vibe 50s with 10 gauge Elixir strings although in the video it is my American Series Strat.

I downloaded the backing track many years ago onto a CD and so have no recollection of where it came from.

We had some fun with this so I hope you enjoy and, as Noddy would loudly say, "Merry Christmas Everybody!"
