Simon and Garfunkel's classic title track from the classic 1970 album. Written by Simon but sung only by Garfunkel.
Geeks, Nerds and Anoraks Corner.
Played on my American Series Strat fitted with CS54 pickups and a new set of 12-52 gauge Elixir strings - at last!
I know it is entirely subjective but isn't it strange how for guitarists, and perhaps for listeners too, a particular pickup or sound is the only one that seems to suit a particular song? Both the neck and middle did not sound right so it had to be the bridge pickup which was a little too sharp for my taste. With the tone control dialled down to no 6 I was happy.
I chose patch 35 on the Hall and Collins Echo but then added my stereo echoes on the multi-tap setting from the Send Effects section of the Tascam DP24SD recorder - so headphones are really required to fully appreciate this as there are no stopped notes.
The backing track is from Dave Robinson's Backtrax Vol 5. Haven't heard much from you lately Dave so I hope you are well.
I really enjoyed playing this lovely song, I hope you enjoy it too.
