Recorded by many and written by Charles Danvers with English lyrics by Carl Stigman. The highest UK entry of this song was by Tom Jones in 1971 when it reached number 2. The most well-known guitar instrumental is by the Dutch band De Maskers and this forms the basis of my rendition.

I used my American Series Stratocaster with CS54 pickups. I was looking for a different sound so eventually settled on the bridge and middle pickups combination. Played through the Vox ToneLab ST on the Vox AC30 amp model with all eqs at the middle point. On the Tascam DP24SD recorder I added just a touch of stereo echoes on the multi tap setting. After mastering I decided that there was a little too much lower frequencies so on the Tascam I reduced them as far as the system would allow, which isn't very much.
The backing track is by Goldfingers, a Swedish Shads tribute band.
