Magnetic Standing Pen | English
To make this standing pen you need a used CD or DVD, a ball point pen, two ring magnets and a bicycle spoke. First make a V shaped bend, 1 finger in length, on the spoke. If you have problem bending uses pliers. Then from where the V shape ends bend the spoke perpendicular to the bend.
Now mark the length of the ball pen without the cap and bend it perpendicular such that it is perpendicular to V bend also.
Now in the last leg of the spoke bend it in half along the direction of the V bend. This makes a perfect stand. Last bend is required to make sure the stand is stable.
Now place this stand on the used CD and stick a tape at both the bends on the base. Now the stand is secure on the CD.Take two ring magnets and keeps it in such a position that they are attracting. Insert one of the magnets on the pen. If the magnets are loose insert a piece of paper to make it fit tightly.
Place the other magnet on the V bend in such position that it attracts the magnet on the pen.
Now place the pen gently beneath the V bend the pen magically stands in air. This is due to magnetic attraction of ring magnets. You can gently spin the pen and it spins for a long time because the friction between the ball point pen and CD is very little. This is because there is a small ball at the end of the pen and contact area with CD is very little, reducing friction.
You can decorate it with a tape gift it to your friends or keep it on your table and enjoy this standing magnetic pen.
