Napoli the layered city
While in Italy we stayed in Napoli, the 3rd largest after Rome and Milan.
This is were hidden gems are everywhere to be found. The underground ancient caverns and cisterns, the layered old buildings and medieval castles, the huge Vezuvius volcano and the Mediteranean sea always available for your picture perfect background.
The metro art stations can seam from another world, and will have you wondering the the underground for longer than you should.
Yes, Napoli still has problems with trash and traffic, but that is a story for another time.
