Looking for some additional assistance when performing an assisted chin up? Unsure where to start? 😢

I’m here to help 😎

Before jumping into the assisted chin up, it is important to remember that when it comes to cueing any movement we MUST cue from the base up ✅

With that being said, let’s jump in to it👇

More often then not, where I see a lot of people make a mistake is that they sit their hips back. This is something we don not want, simply for the reason being that a position as such does not transition in to a body weight chin up.

With that being said, here are a few cues that I would typically use when coaching a client through the assisted chin up👇

✅ Start in the stretched position,
✅ Make sure your core is tight, chest is high and chin is neutral,
✅ From there, practice the retraction of the scapular,
✅ Then, focus on the elbow bend by bringing yourself up to eye level with your hands,
✅ Descend the movement by achieving a full stretch,
✅ Repeat this process for reps 💪

To sum it up, achieving a flawless assisted chin-up relies on key cues: start stretched, maintain core tension, retract your scapula, bend your elbows to eye level, and complete each rep with a full stretch. Keep these cues in mind for effective progress! 😎
