What do Evergreen Hops Taste Like? - SMaSH Beer - Brew Dudes
Another new hops for the SMASH Series, Evergreen Hops.
This one had a very strong flavor profile right away on the palate. It was somewhat confusing and a little unpleasant at first.
Mike pulled out some underripe fruits and pith and general green bitter like qualities. John was feeling it more as herbal and earthy.
Come to find out the marketing descriptors are sort of all over the board on this one but do mention geranium, menthol, pine needles and peach.
Sort of a weird hop.
We thought it might be interesting to see how this does with a modern biotransformation yeast strain. Maybe there are some secrets to unlock.
