Hey everyone! In this video called Get Faster Sacks with Madden’s Dime Rush Blitz Tips & Tricks, I’m diving deep into one of the most powerful blitz setups in Madden: the Dime Rush DB Blitz. This setup can put a ton of pressure on the quarterback, often within just 2 seconds. Whether you’re looking to disrupt your opponent’s offense or force them to make quick, risky throws, this is a go-to defensive move that can make a huge difference in your game.
We’re running the Dime Rush DB Blitz from the Bears’ defensive playbook, but you can also find it in several other playbooks. I’ll guide you through each step, from player substitutions to the best adjustments to maximize your defense. First off, we’re making a few changes on the defensive line to get faster players in key spots. I’ll be substituting Sweat into the strong side defensive tackle position to get more speed up front. This little adjustment alone can be a game-changer, allowing Sweat to reach the quarterback quicker than other defensive linemen.
In this Dime Rush setup, we’re using a Cover Zero defense, which means there’s no safety coverage deep. With no deep safeties, this defense brings all-out pressure, particularly from the outside defensive backs. This setup works great if you want to force your opponent into making snap decisions. However, remember that because there’s no deep help, it’s essential to reach the quarterback quickly—ideally within a couple of seconds.
Executing this blitz setup is simple. Start by pressing coverage to keep the receivers close. Next, select the QB contain feature to help control the edges and stop the quarterback from rolling out. I’ll show you how to put your strong side defensive tackle, which in this case is Sweat, into a bluff blitz. This setup creates a unique opportunity where the offensive line may ignore Sweat, allowing him to get free pressure on the quarterback.
Once you’re set up, manually control Sweat and hold down the right trigger before the snap. As soon as the right guard shifts to help cover the outside, rush straight up the middle with Sweat. With a little practice, you’ll be able to get consistent pressure from both the defensive backs and Sweat. This blitz setup can create a split-second opportunity where your opponent’s quarterback is left with nowhere to go.
It’s important to mix this blitz with other plays from the Dime Rush defense so your opponent doesn’t pick up on your strategy. If you keep running the same play, a smart player will eventually adjust their blocking scheme. By alternating this blitz with other Dime Rush plays, you keep the offense guessing and make your defense even more effective.
