Discord Game Overlay not Working for CS2? Fix it or FACEIT and MM! [works in 2025]
NOTE: The only time there's an issue with -allow_third_party_software is when you play VALVE MATCHMAKING (MM). While using the -allow_third_party_software launch option when queuing MM, Valve will treat you differently... Basically as an "Untrusted" client, which increases your chance of running into cheaters and toxics. Just be aware of this... You may want this to be a FACEIT/ESEA ONLY thing...
Steps:
1) Run Discord as Administrator
2) Add -allow_third_party_software as a Launch Option kind of early (within the first 5 options)
3) ONE MORE FORGOTTEN THING! Restart your FACEIT Anti-Cheat afterwards
4) NOT REQUIRED STEP: Make sure your overlay is turned on AND make sure your Discord settings are accurate
Counter-Strike PUGs will be easier to play once again! You can easily fix your Game Overlay for Discord when playing CS2 on FACEIT or ESEA. It takes 2 minutes and can knock it out in two easy steps
Having -allow_third_party_software mode running for FACEIT and ESEA is 100% OK!! The Anti-cheat will works fine...
