Mazda MX-5 Skidnation Coolant Reroute Install: My LAST Hope To AVOID Bonnet Vents?
Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession and welcome once more to 'Monique', my turbocharged Mk1 Mazda MX-5, or Eunos Roadster, to be pedantic. In this video I am fitting the Skidnation Coolant Reroute Kit (purchased from Bofi Racing: https://bofiracing.co.uk/performance/...) as I'm hoping it will save Monique from needing bonnet vents.
Why use a coolant reroute? As much as the Mazda MX-5 is a well designed car (apart from the rust) the OEM coolant setup means that cylinder 4 gets a little neglected when it comes to coolant flow, which could spell big trouble for forced inducted 5s and/or track MX-5s.
The Skidnation Coolant Reroute Kit moves the thermostat from the front of the engine to the rear of the engine and there is a new coolant hose provided that sends coolant to the rear of the engine as well.
