In this video, we are going to see how we can create a simple fresnel effect in Autodesk Maya.
What is the fresnel effect!
Well, think about it like when you see a balloon. The visibility of the balloon is much more obvious around the edges, compare with the center of it. Even though it's one object with the same material, the visibility is not the same in every area of it. That's fresnel effect. It's more like an illusion.
We are going to create a simple polygonal sphere, apply a simple material on it, and lastly add some extra nodes, to actually make the fresnel effect.
We can play with the ramp node to make some adjustments to our fresnel effect.
