For #Week50 of my #52Songs52Weeks songwriting challenge, my assignment, in honor of the upcoming holiday, was to write a Christmas or Holiday song. So I wrote a song called #Holiday. I tried at first to write a traditional Christmas song about Santa, Christmas Trees, and presents. But it was just not working for me. So I dug a little deeper and wrote about something that many people, myself included, can be guilty of… Only be “merry” during the holiday season. Whether it’s giving to those in need, volunteering or just spending time with family, we are at our best during the holidays and sometimes after the holiday season, we again let these things fall by the wayside. This song suggest in the hook that maybe we should live every day like it is a holiday. As always, the lyrics are in the YouTube description.
