Do you ever feel like you need a good stretch in the workplace? Well this video is for you! 🧘
Why do we stretch? 💁
Here are some of the well noted reasons stretching, particularly for our backs, arms and legs can be helpful;
✅ Increases flexibility
✅ Reduces risk of injury
✅ Increases performance
✅ Aides recover from injury
🙅♀️ Alas, unfortunately NOT! The research hasn't been able to back these various claims...YET!
💥 The upside is the literature DOES support one fact....that stretching makes us feel....GOOD! 💥
So for that reason alone I'm going to give you MY 5️⃣ favourite stretches to do in the workplace.
1️⃣ The lateral neck stretch (Be very careful and gentle with this one): hold 15-30s x 3-4 daily
2️⃣ Wrist flexor and extensor arm stretch: hold 15-30s x 3-4 daily
3️⃣ The front shoulder stretch: hold 15-30s x 3-4 daily
4️⃣ The reverse gorilla stretch (otherwise known as the upper/mid back extension stretch): hold 5-10s x3-4 daily
5️⃣ Spinal rotation stretch (alternatively know as the lower to mid back rotation stretch): hold 5-10s x3-4 daily
