Matching to Sample and Stimulus Equivalence
In this segment I describe the matching to sample procedure and it's variant, the symbolic matching task. I then describe how the symbolic matching task is relevant to the establishment of a stimulus equivalence class, which is a critical feature of learning the meaning of words and building vocabulary. I also discuss how equivalence training results in the learning of emergent relations.
