Ever since dabbing with Smart Home Devices like the door sensor to switch on my devices when the door closes & switch off when my door is open, I had some problems.
Problem: The door stopper is prone to wear & tear over time of door slapping every time the wind blows when I go out to eat. Eventually the door stopper fail to stay on the door causing the wind to close the door & wastes electricity by accident when the door sensor triggered all the devices.
Solutions: After identifying the issue of the door stopper which is the small foam being squeezed multiple times, I decided to make my own door stopper using hard foam from art friend (art shop in Singapore) and some strong neodymium recycled from old 3.5" hard disk & some neodymium magnet bought online (Lazada or Shopee).
The idea is that the whole hard foam will be stopping the door instead of the door squeezing a small part of the foam. The hard foam will by stopping from edge to door at right angle making it stopping the door from pinching the foam.
The neodymium magnet helps to hold the door stopper in place & when it's not in use can use another small magnet to hang on the side of the door without obstructing the door from closing.
I created two because two is better than one reducing the load & pressure to increase the life span of the door stoppers.
