SEPECAT Jaguar Ground Attack Aircraft
The SEPECAT Jaguar is a twin-engine, ground attack aircraft manufactured by Breguet of France now part of Dassault and British Aircraft Corporation (BAC). The Jaguar is equipped with an in-flight refueling probe at the starboard side of the front fuselage to execute air refueling missions even under the worst weather conditions. The Jaguar has five hard points, four under the wings and one beneath the center line fuselage section. The maiden flight of the SEPECAT Jaguar took place on the 8th of September 1968 and it went into service in 1973. Primary users were the Royal Air Force, French Air Force, Royal Air Force of Oman and the Indian Air Force. The SEPECAT Jaguar retired from its service in 2005 (France), 2007 (UK) and 2014 (Oman), however it is still in active service with the Indian Air Force.There were approx. 543 SEPECAT Jaguar produced between 1968 and 1981.Cost per unit was approx. 8 million USD (2008).
