Documentation footage of a Hyper-Soundwalk conducted with the Acropolis family of electronic creatures. These soundscape augmentation artifacts use real-time data collected from ambient light, temperature, humidity, and audio sensors to drive their behavior when installed. The artifacts are all battery-powered and used to augment natural sonic environments like this location near Donnar Pass's Royal Gorge, near Truckee California on November 14th, 2020.
I hiked around a mile to the location following a trail. I carried food, water, eight Speculātor minor artifacts, and Explorator chipper. The Speculātor artifacts cannot be seen in this footage as the camera focuses on Explorator chipper. Note that this was the first in-situ public exhibition of the species which used a now obsolete pecking mechanism that failed to damage the wooden disk as intended. Check out other Exploratr chipper footage to see how this mechanism was improved through iterative development to sound more like a woodpecker and damage the score-keeping rotating disk.
