Documentation footage of a multi-genus Hyper-Soundwalk conducted with the Acropolis family of electronic creatures. These soundscape augmentation artifacts use real-time data collected from ambient light, temperature, humidity, and audio sensors to drive their behavior when installed. The artifacts are all battery-powered and used to augment natural sonic environments like this location on the Bear River, near Colfax California on April 17th, 2021.

I hiked around a mile to the location following a trail parallel to the river through some private and public land. I carried food, water, eight Speculātor minor artifacts, three Legatus minor artifacts, and three Explorator winders to the location which I selected due to its sonic qualities.

Several installation scenarios were tested in the location where the genera took their turns augmenting the soundscape using different strategies. This footage was collected later in the day once multiple genera were installed in close proximity.

There are two artifacts that can be seen standing in the water in this footage. On the left of the screen is an Explorator winder, while on the right of the screen you can see a Legatus. You can hear both artifacts vocalize in this unedited clip. The Explorator winder produces the clickig sounds as well as the music box sounds while Legatus generates the eery wails.
