Pines Hotel Rekindle
A stubborn fire has rekindled at the old Pines Hotel in Fallsburg on Wednesday afternoon, and that's on the heels of another rekindle overnight Tuesday.
Fallsburg Fire Chief Jordan Kozachuk said that it's going to take a while to put it out completely because of the way the old buildings were constructed.
"The call went out yesterday just after 4 p.m., approximately 17 hours ago, and now we're back with a rekindle. These are very old buildings and the way things were constructed in the past is different than how they're constructed today," he said.
The chief says that his firefighters are holding up well even though they've been fighting with fire on and off for 17 hours.
"Everybody's holding up pretty well and their spirits are high," he said. "Nobody's complaining, but for it right now we have hot spots that's going to flare up periodically so we're going to come back and hit him as best we can."
