This 160 m² apartment, located in Moema, São Paulo, was purchased by a family during the construction company's launch and has since undergone numerous customizations to reflect the residents' style and needs. Carol Gava (@carolinagavaarquitetura) and her team worked with the construction company on each stage of the customization process, taking full advantage of the floor plan's possibilities to adapt the space to the family's tastes. After the property was delivered, additions were made to give the rooms even more personality.

One of the most striking features is the continued use of Città tiles by Portinari (@ceramicaportinari), used in almost every room of the house. This collection carries the characteristics of large metropolises and the characteristics of burnt cement in its surface. With a design subtly marked by soft nuances, it evokes the sobriety of the urban atmosphere that welcomes much of the population.

In the bathrooms, although Portinari tiles were also used, the varied selection allowed for differentiation between the rooms without losing the residence's visual harmony. The Make tile, also by Portinari (@ceramicaportinari), has a matte majolica effect, giving the impression that the pieces have been lightly hammered. The delicate, elongated bricks can be used in unusual layouts and were specifically used in two of the bathrooms, giving them a modern and unique aesthetic that integrates with the rest of the project.

In the living area, wood was one of the main materials, chosen to bring a welcoming touch to the space and to help with the division of functions. The wooden elements ensure a smooth transition between areas, while the central block of the apartment stands out for its dark blue hue, a solution that creates visual unity while also fulfilling practical functions: this block mimics the entrance door and defines access to the powder room and the private area of the apartment, ensuring a discreet separation between the living and private spaces.

The family occupying this apartment is a young couple, between 45 and 50 years old, and their two children—a 19-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. Each family member has their own suite. This attention to the individuality of the residents is one of the most striking features of the project, which combines beauty, functionality, and comfort.

About Casa de Valentina 😉

Hi, my name is Lucila Zahran Turqueto and I'm responsible for Casa de Valentina! The project began as a blog in 2008, the result of my passion for decorating spaces when I was setting up my first home.

With time and dedication, Casa de Valentina has grown, taken shape, and matured. I received invitations to write articles for leading magazines in the sector, was featured on the cover of a magazine, and we earned the title of most influential design and décor blog in Latin America.

Here on YouTube, you'll find a select selection of architectural projects, with excellent interior design and decoration solutions. A space for us to share inspiration and good taste!
