Early Spring Compost Check

I recorded myself checking on my compost piles for the first time since late November or so. Yes, I added kitchen scraps to bin #1 over the winter, but that's about it. My first year of composting in 2022-2023 resulted in my pile being too high in nitrogen, and it stank, big time. So this year (2023-2024) I started with and added more shredded fall leaves and as a result my piles are too high in carbon. To try to remedy this I'm adding spent coffee grounds. We'll see if it helps in the coming weeks. Update to come in April or May...
