Waterzooi Chicken Stew (Belgium)
Cooking with Benoit is preparing the Waterzooi, a chicken stew from the flamish city of Gant in Belgium. It's a starter (as a soup) or a main course, perfect when it's cold outside. The Waterzooi can also be prepared with fish.
Recipe :
8oz boneless skinless breast chicken
1 leek, washed and chopped
4oz celery sticks, chopped
1 medium carrot
2oz butter
25fl oz chicken broth
9fl oz half and half cream
1 bouquet garni (a mix of bay leaves and thyme)
