I find so many people don’t just think of Zillow as a ballpark. It’s more like a benchmark for value. In other words, it’s super easy to get hung up on what Zillow says a property is worth.
Look, I have nothing against Zillow, and I actually think it’s a really cool platform. But I do want to recommend for consumers to be aware of how the zestimate works because we should always question credibility and understand what’s happening behind the scenes.
And this happens very regularly. I’m not pretending like I’m uncovering some big thing here. My observation too is sometimes a wild swing in value like this is scrubbed from the zestimate history.
