Lapstone Tunnel Storm Damage
In April 2024 very heavy rain caused severe damage to the Tunnel Gully. A blockage in Knapsack Creek near the west portal of the Lapstone Tunnel resulted in a large amount of water flowing down the tunnel which eroded the Tunnel Gully area at the Eastern portal. Additional water flow from
Tunnel Gully Creek added to the problem with Sydney Water sewer lines.
