To super summarize:
If you want a character to DEAL DAMAGE, focus on the stats:
Crit Rate, Crit Damage, their scaling stat (So attack champs need atk, def need def, HP need HP, support make sure to read).
If you want a champion to land their debuffs, ACC is the biggest stat they need.
If you want a champion to survive longer, than DEF%, HP%, and RES% are a great way to increase their bulk.
If you have a champion that maybe doesn't deal a lot of damage, but has a super high impact skill (Such as Revives, heals, or AOE Debufffs, Buff removal, etc) than SPD will be their best friend.
It is up to you to make the best MIX of stats, but have an idea of what 2-3 stats you want the LARGEST focus on, and their break points. Example: Crit rate is only valuable until you reach 100%, then you don't need more. Majority of characters start out with 15%, and you can gain an easy 5 from masteries, unless you chose a different mastery path than the offense tree.
