Classic Horror films: A thrill in the night
With this video I wanted to do a small tribute to some classic horror film.
I chose 8 movies, from masterpiece, "The Phantom of the Opera" (1925) with Lon Chaney, the first horror movie star, up to "Cat People" (1942).
During this time, especially since the 1930's, the horror film had one of his most fortunate moments, thanks to the efforts of some studios like Universal Pictures, which brought on the screen immortal characters like "Dracula" by Tod Browning with Bela Lugosi, "Frankenstein" (1931) by James Whale and "The Mummy" (1932) by Karl Freund both with Boris Karloff.
Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, to this day remain the best exponents of this genre.
I thought to include two of the three versions of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".
The 1931 version with Fredric March, winner of the Oscar for Best Actor and the 1941 version with Spencer Tracy.
To conclude with two of the most important works from the 1940s:
"The Wolf Man" by George Waggner with Lon Chaney jr. and "Cat People" by Jacques Tourneur with Kent Smith and Simon Simon.
Movie made exclusively on the shadows and charm of darkness.
