This project was inspired by the Netflix "F1: Drive to Survive" tv show. I wanted to simulate the same environment the tv show depicted using my HO scale slot car set. I thought a lap timer would be best and found one for sale for about $100. Then I realized that I could make not only a lap timer but a pole position timer using the Arduino Uno and several magnetic pickup switches. Although this project is designed for a single lane it can be expanded easily to a multiple lane format. The data telemetrics display is not solely accurate but with a little fine tuning can be made to be much more usable for a racing environment. This is primarily for display purposes only.

You can download a zipped file of all the code files here:

*** NOTE2: All the files MUST be located in the same directory to run and work correctly. The only exception is the Arduino sketch.

Please use, modify, share any of the code you wish. Please leave a comment, tell others and subscribe to my YouTube channel! Thx, Scott
