Along the Sunlit Road - Midwest Emo Indie Rock Instrumental
I wanted to make a 3rd midwest emo rock instrumental track and try out coming up with a riff for it on the acoustic. A fun way to come up with new riffs is put your guitar in a random tuning and just experiment, which is exactly what I did to come up with this track! The tuning that my acoustic stayed in for the various parts you hear is: BbFBbFAF. All the strings are tuned down, except the high E which goes up to an F so be careful with that one. I like playing with tunings that have repeated notes across the strings and that half step interval of the A against the 2 Bb's is really nice too.
The track ended up having a hopeful vibe to it, which I really like. I wanted this picture to reflect that optimistic feeling. I found a picture on my phone that had a good landscape with a road in it, but the photo was taken near sunset and was kind of overcast so it was pretty dark. I edited it a lot in order to get it to have the more bright and vibrant look that it does. The picture I used for the next midwest emo instrumental song I made, Give Way to the Horizon, actually used a photo taken during the day, but I edited to make it look like it is nighttime.
The music and imagery for this video used absolutely no generative AI at any point in its creation.
