French culture at the Olympics - an immigrant’s take
The Olympic village mess is so France and I’m really enjoying the commentary around it and the reaction of Americans especially. French culture is definitely not a lot like US American culture. The mindset, that alone, is something I am still adapting to after six years. So it’s been fascinating to see on a global scale people reacting to the French experience. obviously my experience is gonna be different than other Americans and France, other immigrants from other countries, and especially the different intersections of each person. But maybe this video will give some insight. Maybe not. Maybe it’s just for fun. but the Olympic Village serving vegetarian or vegan or plant-based food is so bizarre to me. The air conditioning, the lack of pillows, etc., that all makes sense. I knew all that was gonna happen. Anyway, it’s been fun to watch through the world’s eyes. I love this country so much, but partly it’s because it’s so very different than where I come from especially as a people pleaser from the south
