When we opened our WordPress blog, I found some strange postings in Russian.
At once, we knew that someone had gained entry to our WordPress account.
It has happened before. So, it's time to change the password.

Here are the steps to follow to change your WordPress blog password.
First, log in to your WordPress dashboard.
This will usually be yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Enter your login details.
You'll now be brought to your WordPress dashboard.
On the left panel, choose users and then select profile.
Next, scroll down to Account Management and choose Set New Password.
You'll be given a strong password, but you may choose your own password.
Once you're done, scroll down and hit update profile.

Change WordPress Password Through the Lost Password Method
You may also change your password during login.
Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Click on Lost your password.
You'll be asked to enter your username and admin email address.
Wordpress will send you instructions on how to reset your password.
Log in to your admin email.
You'll be given a link to reset your password.
Click on it.
You'll be suggested a strong password.
It will not be easy to remember.
So, copy and paste it somewhere safe.
You may also enter an easy-to-remember password if you wish.
Then click on Save Password.
Next, log in with your new password.

Change Your Password Through cPanel
You may also change your password through cPanel.
Log in to your cPanel dashboard.
You can do this by going to yourdomain.com/cpanel
On your cPanel, search for phpMyadmin.
On the left panel, choose your website.
Scroll down to the users file.
Then select the user to change the password.
Then click on Edit.
Proceed to enter the new password.
Next, click the dropdown arrow and select MD5.
When done, scroll to the bottom and hit Go.
Then go ahead and try logging in to your WordPress website with the new password.
