On August 14, 2020, the 635 years of the battle of Aljubarrota are celebrated.
On the same day in 1385, one of the most decisive battles for Portugal took place.
Its very existence was at risk.
In a battle that fought Portugal to Castella (Spain), Portugal emerged victorious and from that victory this magnificent Monastery was born.
