Get it On - Chase - Bass Cover - Request
Hello :)
This is the requested transcription I did of the Chase song "Get it On". This comes from their 1971 album "Chase". The bass player on this track was Dennis Keith Johnson.

I'd never heard this song until the request came in. One of the fringe benefits of doing this YouTube thing is I get introduced to a lot of different music! :)
This song reminds me a little of a "musical theater" kind of song. It sounds like something that could have come from Godspell or JCS. What do you think?
And how about that trumpet section? Whoa! I hope that didn't hurt themselves recording this one! :P
This song creates a ton of energy which is actually what I had to try to avoid getting caught up in while playing this. It took quite a few times playing this through to be able to hold back and try to relax and not play too heavy. If I tensed up or thought too much, a crash would be imminent ;)
The chorus double time sections are pretty cool when slowed down, they're fun to practice.
Slow it down and gradually work up the tempo. Looping the problem spots will help too if you have a program like Transcribe ;)
