Why Qui-Gon Could Be SEEN as a Force Ghost - Star Wars Explained
We got to see Qui-Gon Jinn again at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi! But last we saw him in The Clone Wars…we didn’t actually see him. He spoke with Yoda as a disembodied voice, claiming his training was incomplete, meaning he couldn’t materialize. So why was he visible in Obi-Wan Kenobi? Is this a contradiction? The short story Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray in From a Certain Point of View revealed that he simply continued his training after Anakin’s fall specifically so he could keep Obi-Wan company. His consciousness still existed in the Force, so what’s to stop him from learning more? The story states it took him nearly ten years, but he was able to visibly manifest by the time of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and by the time of A New Hope he could interact with the world around him.
