Shoulder replacements and other surgeries aren’t typically referred to as “pleasant experiences.” But when Carolyn received a shoulder replacement at Onslow Memorial’s Surgical Pavilion, she happily recalls an outstanding team and a very pleasant hospital experience. Hear Carolyn detail the immaculate facilities and dedicated team that got her back to feeling her best.

I’m Carolyn Hatcher, and I was having a lot of problem with my right shoulder. A lot of pain and not being able to use it. And I go to a rheumatologist on a regular basis because I do have lupus. And he took an MRI and Cat Scan and told me my shoulder was wrecked, basically. And he recommended Dr. Scully and sent me to Dr. Scully who look at the MRI and x-rays and everything and told me the same thing—your shoulder is wrecked. That he needed to do a replacement, so I chose to go ahead and do it, and had that done in February of this year, 2017 at Onslow Memorial, at the Surgical Pavilion, which was a very, very pleasant experience. The surgical pavilion was just an outstanding place—the nurses, the cleanliness, the brightness. I had outstanding care. The nurses, I never had a want for anything. They were there constantly, around the clock, taking care of me and looking after me for anything I needed. They did not want me to do be in pain. So it was overall a very, very good experience. You can tell they care. This is my hospital. This is my story.
