"I’m Barb Cusack, I’m from Chicago, I’ve been here a little over 10 years now… I’m Chris Beard, and I was stationed here on and off for the past 24 years. I retired in 2014 and decided to make this my home. So, I love it here.
Baby Henry was born November 18th, and he has been an absolute welcome joy in our life. The hospital was very clean, it felt like a very sterile environment. I really loved the way the staff were very attentive, very nice, very caring. They saw you as a human, as if they were your family.
You felt like you were in a community and you felt that sense, and again the cleanliness, it was very clean there, very well lit. You just knew where to go, they would show you where everything was. Everything was up to date. It wasn’t like you felt like you were going to a hospital that was from the 50’s or the 60’s, it was very nice.
Onslow Memorial is a feeling hospital, they care. What can we do to help? How can we make this experience better for you? That’s important, because no one goes to the hospital just to have a good time. So, it’s up to the staff then, they step in and become the true professionals that they were to us. When we were at our most nervous, they were there. And they made it so much better. You can’t put a price on that."
