THE STORY OF PROPHET MUSA LEARNING FROM PROPHET KHIDIR | TINTA MAHABBAH
At one time, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) was giving a speech eloquently and fluently in front of his people, the Children of Israel, and in his speech he was good at arranging the language used so that many of his people were moved that his speech was so penetrating to the depths of the hearts of his listeners. After the speech was over, suddenly one of his people stood up, he was an old man and with courage he said, "O Moses, is there anyone else smarter than you..?" with agility and courage Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) replied, "At this time, there is no one smarter than me..!"
And it seems that the answer from Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) can be understood by his people, with the reason that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) can lead his people, the Children of Israel, who have gone astray, to a bright path. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) with his staff can part the sea and defeat Pharaoh, can also defeat all the magicians of the Egyptians, in addition to that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) can uncover the dark secret of cruel murder.
Not to mention that Prophet Musa (a.s.) took a break to answer all the questions from his people, a revelation came down from Allah SWT to Prophet Musa (a.s.) which contained a warning that indeed Knowledge is very vast and that knowledge does not only belong to the Messengers, but anyone can have extensive knowledge by the will of Allah SWT.
After receiving the revelation from Allah SWT, Prophet Musa (a.s.) was moved by his desire to meet someone smarter than him, while pleading, "O Allah.. who is someone smarter than me and where does he live..? I really want to meet him and will learn from him, hopefully I can reach the depths of inspiration and glean knowledge and confidence from him". Prophet Musa (a.s.)'s request was then answered by Allah SWT, "O Moses, you can meet that person at the meeting point of two seas (i.e. between the seas of Rome and the seas of Persia)". Then Prophet Musa said again to Allah SWT, "O Allah.. show me the way to get there". Then Allah SWT ordered Prophet Musa (a.s.) to bring a fish, and if the fish has disappeared then that is where he can meet the person.
