Switching at Everett Railroad Company - Railfanning - Duncansville, PA (10/17/24)
On the 17th, I was back in Duncansville, Pennsylvania again at the Everett Railroad Company. I first drove up to the main facility, but didn't see anything going on there, so I decided to drive down to the station in Hollidaysburg. While I was going over the crossing at 3rd Street, I looked right and noticed the train was coming up along the rip track. I quickly pulled off and got out, however I was too late to set up my camera equipment and start recording as the train went past. Granted this isn't a bad thing, as you'll notice from the footage the sun was on the opposite side, which makes for poor lighting.
In this video we see Everett Railroad #1712 switching a consist over onto the rip track. This train comes through here I believe on a daily basis and drops the cars for Norfolk Southern to pick up later. NS then takes the train further north towards Altoona. On this occasion after dripping the cars off on the rip track, the Everett locomotive goes over the crossing and heads north, possibly going into the wye in order to turn around and head back east.
