Trends in California Cardiovascular Disease Mortality

Bhatta, PhD, MPH; from the California Department of Public Health, in Sacramento, CA, and William Bommer, MD; from the University of California, Davis and Sacramento, in CA; review thier article appearing in the November 2024 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings where they examined the cardiovascular disease related death trends and the relationship between CV disease deaths and sex, race/ethnicity, and income in California from 1999 to 2021. They found all the death rates that were dropping, stagnant, or rising prior to the pandemic increased after the COVID-19 pandemic.
