Case Study: Historic Lockport St., Plainfield, IL
As early as the 1820s, settlers began building a community known as Walker's Grove along the DuPage River in Illinois. Today this area, about 40 miles southwest of Chicago, is the village of Plainfield. For most of its existence, Plainfield was a small, rural community, but over the past few decades or so, it has experienced an explosive growth in population. Marvin was tasked with replacing the windows in many of the historic buildings on Lockport Street, which had fallen into disrepair.
