Aswad ~ On And On (Live on British t.v./c.c.)
Aswad started their career in a roots reggae style and were hailed as the next big thing with the release of, `Hulet.’ The hits soon followed including `Three Babylon,’ `It's Not Our Wish’ and the instrumental classic `Warrior Charge’.
They were signed to CBS for `New Chapter’ followed by the remixed dub version. A second album with the CBS Corporation, `Not Satisfied’ followed.
In August of '82, Aswad played live at Notting Hill Carnival which was recorded and released on Island records as `Live and Direct’. The group enjoyed a high profile particularly when Drummie sang lead vocals such as `Don't Turn Around’, which topped the UK pop charts as well as charting in the USA.
They followed this up with another Top Twenty hit, `Give a Little Love.’ With further releases including, `On And On' (our featured track peaking at No. 25 in July 1989)`Next To You,' `You're No Good,' `Warriors' and `Shine.'
