In this video, I explain how to use WinMP3Packer (a GUI Version of MP3packer) to reduce MP3 file size without sacrificing any quality. This is unlike most other converters mentioned on YouTube which do reduce quality.
The software works best on constant bitrate MP3s by removing padding and converting them to variable bitrate. However, its super-squeeze mode can even make some variable bitrate MP3s smaller, too.
The software was able to reduce my entire MP3 library (1002 songs) in size by 6.1%. However, on tracks with substantial quiet passages, up to 40% file size reduction was achieved, again with absolutely no quality loss! Special thanks to Omion for creating MP3packer and Chris Close (psyllium) for making the WinMP3Packer graphical front-end!
