26. String Quartet no 1 by Guy Shahar (FULL VERSION: Jan-Mar 2026)
My first serious attempt at a String Quartet.
In my first 6 months of composing, I knocked out 5 String Quintets (ranging from 3 to 15 minutes), but now I put this down as a learning experience (though there are some really nice parts in them - especially the first movement of the 5th one from last January).
But that was more than a year ago now, and I really wanted to take a big step forward with Strings based on what I've learnt about composing over the past year. I even bought a new Strings library for it (Chris Hein). I'm really happy with this.
