17. Themes For Orchestra (May/June 2025) by Guy Shahar
This piece became much longer and fuller than I ever expected, and has been my longest piece to date.
It started as a way for me to develop the idea of using themes in music in various different ways. Part I draws on an old melody that came into my head many years ago, before I had any knowledge of how to do anything with it. Part II is a more contemporary treatment of multiple shorter themes, though there is a lot of thematic material that spans both movements.
