My second vocal quartet, following the first back in April ( • 16. Vocal Quartet no.1 by Guy Shahar (Apri... . This has turned into one of my favourite pieces. I'm not sure why, but writing for voices seems to bring out the best in my non-functional approach to harmony (born of theoretical ignorance rather than any clever skill I've learnt) and like the first, this goes off in all sorts of tonally ambiguous directions, which I find very satisfying.
